A houseboat or a self-contained riverside shack is a great option for families or groups of friends. Those with children could consider a farm-stay - from collecting eggs to rounding up sheep, there will be plenty to keep the kids amused and give mum and dad time to relax.

Bed and breakfasts are ideal for couples wanting a romantic weekend away, and the Murraylands has a good mix of modern and traditional properties available. There are also excellent motels and hotels, most of which have facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, barbecue areas and views of the river.
