Pinnaroo Show and Field Day
Pinnaroo
6 October 2010
Pinnaroo is a rural community situated on the Mallee highway 250 kilometres from Adelaide and mid way between the Limestone Coast and the Riverland of South Australia. The Pinnaroo Show and Field Day is a special local event that attracts a large attendance (approximately 1500 form local and neighbouring communities, and a good variety of traders (local and from outside the district). It is a focal point of the local calendar and draws entries in a wide range of selections from wool, pets, and plants to cookery, arts, yard dogs, shearing, and horses in action - a great variety. Competitors travel from all areas of South Australia, as well as from Victoria and New South Wales. The sideshows keep the young (and not so young) occupied, going on into the night when a spectacular fireworks display is staged from the main oval.
